Easter egg Cartons

Hello!

Today I wanted to share a special project I have been working on this week. With Easter right around the corner, I like to try and prepare a special treat or gift for our Meals on Wheels recipients at our church.

I ended up teaching 4th and 5th grade Sunday school yesterday so I decided it would be a great opportunity for the children to help me with this!

I picked up 18 paper egg cartons at my local Target. I happened upon them one day so I bought all they had.

I wanted to fill the carton with plastic eggs so the children put candy in 3 of the eggs and wrote encouraging notes or scripture and placed them in 2 other eggs.

The last space left I filled with an alcohol dyed egg. You use white Easter eggs and Alcohol Ink from Ranger to create these little treasures. They are absolutely addictive. The color combinations are endless.

You can see how to create your own eggs with a video from Tim Holtz RIGHT HERE.

The last egg I left empty, to represent the Tomb that was left empty after Jesus was resurrected.

The children then decorated the boxes and wrote cards I made using Lawn Fawn pre-made cards and I added a die cut cross from Paper Smooches.

I love to see what the kids do:

When everything was finished they taped the cards on top of the egg cartons:

I pray these will be a blessing to those who receive it. I know I am blessed tremendously every time I get to spend time with our precious children.

Thanks for stopping by!

I am entering this in Word Art Wednesday #276-277 Anything Goes Challenge.

  1. Wonderful array of colors. Thank you for blessing us with your artwork here at Word Art Wednesday. We are midway on our current challenge and I hope you join us again. Leaving you with the inspiration of God's Word found in 1 Corinthians 16:13-14 which tells us, "Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be courageous; be strong. Do everything in love." Have an awesome week.
