Today I have two cards using the Happy New Year die from The Stamps of Life!
While cleaning my desk, I discovered two watercolor paper scraps (that have been there for a VERY long time!) so I decided to die cut out Happy New Year. The watercolors have a metallic sheen so I thought that would be fun for a festive card.
You can see some of the sheen here. Metallics are always hard to capture in a photo. : )
After being die cut:
I mounted the gold Happy New Year onto a Seaglass shadow.
I mounted the blue one onto Licorice card stock.
I made the same background twice by stamping snowflakes all around with Powdered Sugar pigment ink. Be sure to let it sit for several minutes to dry on your paper or it will smudge. I stamped on Blueberry and Sky card stock.
Next, I stamped and die cut a large snowflake with Seaglass on Powdered Sugar Card stock. I added a few rhinestones to the centers.
I created the snowflake background the same way on this card but I stamped on Sky card stock. I decided that the Grape card stock would be a nice complement. I cut a trio of snowflakes and popped them up with Adhesive Foam.
If you look closely, you can see that I coated each Grape snowflake with a clear shimmer pen.
Thanks for stopping by!
