Star banner featuring The Stamps of Life

Just a quick post today to share a felt banner I made to celebrate 4th of July!

This project was very fun! It did take a few hours, but I did most of it watching tv.

I like to stitch things so the Sizzix Dotted Stars have been calling my name! I die cut the largest star from Strawberry and Blueberry felt. I cut two of each star and began stitching them together using white embroidery floss. I used 3 out of the 6 strands. I didn't have any batting for inside so I chose to use cotton balls. They worked well to fluff up my stars!

I cut smaller stars using the same set. This die set contains stars that are dotted and solid. I stitched a few more of the smaller stars and glued them all down in different patterns using Tacky glue. 

I strung my stars with more white embroidery floss but you could use red or blue to add some contrast. I wanted my stars to look like they were floating a bit on my craft room door.
