Papertrey Ink February Blog Hop

Hi there!

Since we have had a busy week at my house, I created a card tonight that incorporates two challenges:
Papertrey Ink February 2018 Blog Hop and PTI Make It Monday #312 Framing Sentiments and
Images

Here is the inspiration picture provided by Papertrey:

I die cut a trio of eggs from the newest release of PTI's Bitty Big Papers. I cut the green grass from New Leaf card stock. The grass is actually a piece of the cupcake wrapper die from Lawn Fawn.  I just trimmed it down to fit.

The stitched frame is cut from Spring Moss. The "Hello Spring" was stamped with Gumball Green ink. This stamp comes from a small Stamps of Life set.

I added a small piece of Harvest Gold ribbon and some Clear Wink of Stella to finish it off.
The color is a little flat because I had to take the picture in my light box.

Thank you with The Stamps of Life

Hi there!

I have another card to share today:

This card definitely has a more masculine feel compared to my card yesterday, which was very pink. You can see it HERE.

I used the card stock and patterned paper included in my most recent Stamps of Life Card Club Kit.

After running the die through with gray paper to create the card base, I also cut the white heart piece and lined the card with this awesome woodgrain paper:

Here is a closeup of the adorable hearts. I paper pieced the colors into the open spaces:

Thinking of You with The Stamps of Life

Hi there!

I wanted to share a card I created today:

I am loving the Sizzix Thank You Drop ins designed by Stephanie Barnard this week! I am trying to use things I already have but with an added twist. I decided to add some Stickles and Nuvo to this card in the open heart spaces.

I die cut the card base in white card stock. Next, I cut the heart piece in Guava (my favorite pink ever!).

I cut a piece of patterned paper for the inside and add a pink stripe ribbon.

The center of this die set includes a Thank You sentiment, but I decided to mix it up and change it to thinking of you. These dies are from the Sizzix Word Circle #2 set.

Here are few more photos of the card at different angles:

You can really see the sparkle and shine:

Happy Birthday with The Stamps of Life

Hi there!

Wanted to share a new card with you today:

I have been trying to clean up my craft area and found these sweet flowers in my stash today and I decided to use them!

I die cut the basket from Bubblegum and Candy Card stock. Between the two layers, I added the flowers and finished by adding one on top. These flowers already have full adhesive on them so it is very easy to adhere them down.

I added the basket to a piece of dotted paper and then added that to another piece of paper. I love all those bright dots!

The large sentiment is such a great focal point and I really like the size. The Stamps of Life has many different ones and it comes with a word and shadow die and stamps. It is such a great value.

I cut the Happy in Sea Glass and die cut a small banner and stamped birthday with Ocean ink. I added a gray dotted ribbon and a trio of flower embellishments.

Get Well Soon with The Stamps of Life

Hi there!

I wanted to share a new card today:
I am ready for spring to come so I was inspired by these strawberries that I found in my craft stash.

They are made of felt and have great dimension:

I used the Grid diet cut the artichoke boxed then added it to a patterned paper. After gluing down the strawberries, I cut the banner from Strawberry Card stock and stamp the sentiment using archival black ink.

I didn't add too many other embellishments because I really wanted to the fruit to be the star of the card!

My Favorite Things Creative Olympics Event #3 - Crafty Biathlon

Hi there!

I created this card for the My Favorite Things Creative Olympics Event #3 Crafty Biathlon.

I was definitely inspired by Stephanie's card. I decided to make the Shaker- Emboss Resist card. I began by die cutting the five rings in the appropriate colors from the Stitched Circle Frame. Then I cut slits in the circles to weave them together.

I decided to cut one circle only for the shaker. I added Pretty Pink Posh sequins in red, white and blue.

Next, I stamped and colored two critters from the retired Forest Friends sets and die cut them. They are so stinking cute and they fit perfectly in the small circle frame.

The last step was to add the resist component. I decided to die cut a frame from a Blueprints set and emboss it with "May the Forest be with you." I thought that was cute for this card. The sentiment was embossed with puffy white powder. I inked the sentiment with distress red and blue ink and kept the middle white. It is hard to see the white part in the picture but you can see it better in person!
This was a fun challenge. Thanks My Favorite Things!

Happy Birthday with The Stamps of Life Sailboat2stamp

Hi there!

Just stopping by to share a card I made for my father-in-law's birthday:

Here is the inside:

The Sailboat2stamp set is this month's club set from The Stamps of Life. I die cut the sails from patterned paper and added it to the die cut of the ship. This set also includes a shadow die.

I used the Grid die and cut used the pieces from two patterned papers to fill the grid back in.

I curved the Happy birthday to go along the wave shape I also cut from paper. You have to love the flexibility of clear stamps!

Happy Mail with The Stamps of Life

Hi there!

I created two cards today featuring the same stamp and die set.

Here is the first one:

I had a piece of leftover cloud paper from The Stamps of Life that I just couldn't throw away so I cut a frame out of what was remaining.

I decided to add some clouds using a cloud stencil from My Favorite Things. I used white pigment ink for this.

The mailbox was stamped on watercolor paper, colored in and die cut. I created the envelopes the same way. I like to make my envelopes look like they are falling out of the mailbox.

A little bird was added on top of the mailbox and some grass pieces at the bottom finished it off!

Here is the second card:

I started by cutting the mailbox out of patterned paper instead of coloring it. I paper pieced the box together and added it to a Candy card stock base.

Again, I wanted some movement with my letters so they are falling to the ground in a sea of hearts this time! I added a few watercolored letters.

The bird was added next as well as the purple seam binding.

Lastly, I added the large Hello epoxy sticker.

SUPPLIES USED:
Watercolor paper and watercolor paints
White Pigment Ink
My Favorite Things Cloud Stencil
Ranger Archival Black Ink
Patterned Paper pad (The Stamps of Life)
Glitter Paper (Stamps of Life)
Happy2Mail Stamp and Die Set (Stamps of Life)
Sky Card Stock
Candy Card Stock
Purple Seam Binding
Candy and Strawberry Ink Colors

Valentine's Day Gift Card Holders using Zig Zag Bag Dies

Hi there!

Hope you are having a wonderful Valentine's Day!

Just stopping in to share two gift card holders I made for my daughters:

I used the Zig Zag Bag Dies from the Stamps of Life to die cut the bag. You need a 6x6 piece of paper.

I chose some patterned paper for this project and after gluing it together, I made a band to go around this one:

A simple heart die cut finished it off!

For this pink one - same process. You could easily make multiples of this in no time at all.
I glued the bag together and added a light pink frame on top. This die is included in the kit.  I added a red heart stamped with XOXO.

This has become one of "go-to" dies as I love to create fun ways to give little gifts. I highly recommend it!

Love You More with The Stamps of Life

Hi there!

Valentine's Day is quickly approaching! I have been married for 21 years so we don't usually do anything big to celebrate the day but I do like to give my husband a card telling him how much I love and appreciate him.

I created this card using a small freebie stamp that came in one of my Stamps of Life Club sets. Stephanie (the owner) sends us goodies throughout the year and I just had to make something with this!

I had a leftover circle die cut on my desk so I decided to create a "wreath" by stamping the cluster of hearts around it. I chose Candy and Strawberry ink colors.

In the center, I embossed Love You More in copper powder.

I cut a rectangle from patterned paper and mounted it all on gray card stock.

Thank You with Papertrey Ink

Hi there!

I created this card for the Papertrey Ink 11th Anniversary Challenge: Use only dies - no stamps!

I pulled out my Vertical Stripes Cover Plate and ran it through several times using multiple color card stock.

After cutting a final cover plate in white, I adhered them all on the card base.

Using Tag #9, I cut the smaller tag from Raspberry Fizz.

I then cut the Thank you from white card stock and adhered it to the tag.

I decorated the tag with preprinted die cuts from the Bloom & Grow Make it Mini kit.

A bit of purple ribbon was tied on the top and three small pearls were added.

This was a fun challenge!

I die cut the Flower Power Background Die from watercolor paper. I then randomly added color around and glued it to a Kiwi card stock base after it dried.

The Easter Sentiment was cut from Lemonade and backed with a white shadow.

I added some green gingham ribbon and die cut a banner in Lemonade card stock. I stamped Blessings with Ocean ink.

LOVE Banner with The Stamps of Life

Hi there!

My family is all finally better from the flu so I did some crafting!

I made this banner for Valentine's Day:

The Stamps of Life recently released a set of uppercase and lowercase letter dies. I missed out on the Uppercase dies but got the others.

These large banners are from Sizzix. I cut a card stock base in Candy and then cut a banner from patterned paper.

Next, using candy I also cut dotted circles and mounted the letters onto each one. I decided to add a banner at each end and put hearts and a red puff on each one.

I put the banner up in my craft area on the door but you could easily move it to a mantle.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Papertrey Ink 11th Anniversary Floral Challenge

Hi there!

I created this card for the Papertrey Ink 11th Anniversary Floral Challenge.

Papertrey Ink has introduced their new Anniversary set and it is stunning.

I am so excited that it will have coordinating dies for purchase as well.

I pulled out a bag of die cuts from the Make It Mini Bloom and Grow kit. I began by embossing a New Leaf card base. I cut the frame next from Spring Rain and glued that down.

Next, I cut in half one of the preprinted flower pots and popped it up. Then I began "arranging" my flowers and glued those in place. This was a lot of fun!

Birthday Wishes with The Stamps of Life

Hi there!

I wanted to share a card I created today:

I really like these big, bold dies from Stephanie Barnard. I decided to try to emboss the whole die cut.

I cut two of the hearts, one with about 65 lb white card stock and the second in a 110 lb card stock.

Then, I dabbed embossing ink all of the paper and applied gold embossing powder. The lighter card stock didn't work as well and curled:

I missed a few spots, too, on that one so I will use part of it for something else.

Embossing is my favorite technique and I never grow tired of it. So it was fun to play around a little with it for this project.

You can really see the shine in this photo:

I added a small piece of twine and then die cut the sentiment:

One I assembled the card, I added some Clear wink of Stella and a couple of small crystal flowers to finish it off:
