Papertrey Ink February 2017 Blog Hop

Hello!

Wow, where did February go?? I really don't remember time going to fast. It feels like New Year's Day was yesterday.

Today is the Papertrey Ink February Blog Hop.

I love the color palette they chose for this month. It is so rich and bold.

When I saw the inspiration picture, I knew I wanted to use Make It Mini kit Color Pop Autumn.

I pulled out a piece of the gray card stock that has white images you stencil to complete the card front.

All the colors I chose are from the Tim Holtz distress line because they blend so beautifully.

After stenciling in all the white areas I realized I had gotten a tiny bit of green ink on the paper. I wasn't going to toss this one aside so I had to mask it!!

I die cut a banner in Amethyst Allure and stamped birthday wishes. I strategically placed it over my "oops."

I noticed in the inspiration picture some copper color so I die cut the Bountiful out of my favorite foiled card stock and attached.

I am sure on the hop today I will see LOTS of Ribbon since we all bought during their big pre-sale so I tied a piece on my card, too!

Their ribbon is lovely.

Thanks Papertrey Ink for another fun blog hop!

Have a wonderful day and thank you so much for stopping by.

Happy Mail - The Stamps of Life

Hello!

I wanted to share a card today featuring Happymail2stamp set and dies.

I began by stamping the mailbox onto watercolor paper using black Archival ink.

I stamped the image again on sticky notes that are fully adhesive and trimmed around to make a mask. I don't mask things often and that is on my technique to-do list this year.

I did a quick watercolor around the mask using blue and green for the sky and grass.

Next, I stamped several letters and watercolored and die cut them.

I wanted it to look like letters were coming out of the box toward the ground.

I am in love with this set. There are so many things you can do with it. I can't wait to make a few more items with it.

Thanks for stopping by!

Love You - Paper Smooches

Hello!

Today I have two cards to share.

The first card features a watercolored panel using shades of red and pink.

I stamped the bird and paintbrush and hand cut them both.

I added hearts all around hoping it would look like the bird was "painting" them.

The Love You stamp comes from Lots of Love.

I had an additional watercolor panel left over so I decided to make another card.

I didn't love the yellow with the red when I first imagined the card above. After I stamped the Love you sentiment I thought it would work well on the other panel.

I also added some hearts and then tied a ribbon between the yellow and red.

Also, I added Lemon Drop Pretty Pink Posh sequins on the yellow part. Made me think about making Lemons into Lemonade with this card base!! haha

Happy Valentine's Day - The Stamps of Life

Hello!

Happy Valentine's Day!

I have been happily married for more than 20 years and I am looking forward to celebrating another V-Day with my beloved.

We don't usually do anything big - no flowers, etc but we often exchange cards!

I used the Love2hug stamp set from the Stamps of Life to make this.

I stamped a lot of heart outlines in black. Then I added the solid image.

I filled in some of the white space with smaller outline hearts. I added some sentiments to the larger hearts.

Lastly I added some purple sequins and ribbon.

I hope he likes it : )!

Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!

Scribble Flowers - Stamps of Life

Hello!

I haven't had much crafting time so I am grateful to have a few moments to craft this week.

I really like the stamp set, Scribbles2stamp from The Stamps of Life.

I decided to turn these scribbles into flowers. I stamped 3 "flowers" and added stems by hand using a dark green marker. I wanted my stems to be thick to match the thicker lines of the images.

I then stamped on top of the flowers with a smaller dot image from a Stampin' up set using TSOL Cloud ink.

I offset the image in the top right corner (gotta spice up my cards, right??? : ) and mounted onto patterned paper and a dark green card stock.

The banner was die cut from a lighter green and a glittered pink button was adhered beside the banner.

Happy Birthday featuring the Stamps of Life

Hello!

I wanted to share a birthday card today, using the Stamps of Life Cake2stamp set.

I stamped and die cut several birthday cakes the other day from Ombre paper so I used one of those cakes for my card.

The striped background is patterned paper cut to 4 inches x 5.25 inches and mounted on Lemonade card stock.

The sentiments are from the Cake2stamp set as well.

PTI Make it Monday #275 Stamped Dangles

Hello!

Just wanted to share the card I made for the PTI Make It Monday #275 Stamped Dangles.

Check out Amy's blog to see more on this challenge and the other work she does.

I pulled out an older die, Phrase Play #3 and die cut Hello out of blue card stock.

I glue that piece down to a white base and began stamping the dangles. I chose several shapes from 3 different sets in an assortment of colors.

After drawing them I added some lines to make them "dangle" from the Hello.

I had some patterned paper left out from another challenge so I die cut an arrow in blue and added a strip on the bottom and the left edge.

I went back and drew black lines around Hello. It does make it pop of the page!

Papertrey Ink Make It Monday #274 Pattern Play w. Die Cut Silhouettes

Hello!

These cards were created for the MIM #274 Pattern Play with Die Cut Silhouettes.

Click here for Lexi's blog to learn more.

I decided to make several cards using different pads of patterned paper from Papertrey.

This was a great challenge, but challenging!!! haha. It took me a while to comb through my paper stacks and figure out how to balance the patterned balloons with the patterned background. It is easy to make it too busy.

On my cards I die cut 3 balloons from PTI Birthday Style Stamp set and dies.

Here is my second card. I die cut "Blessed" and pieced in purple card stock.

All the paper is from PTI.
Blessed die is retired from MFT or PTI (sorry I can't recall!).
Birthday sentiment from The Stamps of Life.

Thank Whoo - Stamps of Life

Hello!

It has been a good week but long. My little one currently has the flu so we are dealing with that. She started medicine right away and it seems to be helping.

Today I have a card I created using owls. I saw a card recently using My Favorite Things I'm Owl Yours Stamp set and I decided to use that for inspiration.

I began by stamping 3 owls on top of each other. I used a larger one for the base and added two smaller ones on top.

I love owls!!! I had a "pet" owl as a child, Charlie. He would eat turkey necks on our back porch and hoot at us. He was majestic!!

I did some watercoloring with pinks and blues and a little orange on their noses. I trimmed down the piece of paper and die cut 3 clouds. Around the clouds I added some pink watercolor and adhered that to a piece of pink patterned paper.

Both pieces were added to an Ocean card stock base and finally I added clear sequins all around.

The bottom owl is holding the cute sentiment created from a banner die.

Pillow Box Wishes - Stamps of Life

Hello!

Just wanted to share a quick gift I made using the Stamps of Life Pillow Box Die.

I used a piece of patterned paper to cut the box. One of the cool features of this die is you have to cut it once. You can add some adhesive to flap and you quickly have a nice holder for a gift card or some treats.

I am going to make some Valentine treat holders for these soon and I will share when I finish them.

I found some wooden butterflies in my craft stash that are already painted. They were made by American Crafts.

Some time ago I added Nuvo to several different wooden words and pieces I had from The Stamps of Life Card Kits. This wishes is one of those pieces. Nuvo gives great dimension to a project and just makes me smile!

I added the Wishes on top of the butterfly and adhered it to the yellow ribbon I tied around the box.

One more treat holder to add to my craft supply.

I Knead You - Stamps of Life

Hello!

Today's card features an adorable cat from The Stamps of Life.

We got a new cat last Saturday! We found "Hobbs" at our local Humane society. He is 2 years old and the sweetest cat. He is still adjusting to our house but we are all in love.

Hobbs napping

I began by stamping out the kitty on watercolor cardstock, die cutting and coloring.

I die cut the base in orange using Sizzix Flip-it Rectangle Die Set. I cut two different pieces of patterned paper and popped up the cat on the rectangle.

I stamped one paw print and colored it with Clear Wink of Stella.

The sentiment, "I knead you," is perfect for this cat! He "kneads dough" all the time!! We hope that means he is happy.

I added a small piece of ribbon at the bottom.

Thanks for stopping by and reading about our new family member!
