Happy Birthday with My Favorite Things

Hello!

Today I am sharing a card I made for the MFT Card Sketch Challenge # 339.

I finally got time this week to craft and use my MFT I'm Owl Yours stamps and dies. I recently bought them after having both on my wish list since they were released. They are just beyond cute.

I added a woodgrain pattern via a stencil to Baked Brown Sugar Card stock (SU).

I stamped several owls on watercolor card stock and die cut them. I began coloring one with Zig Markers in the body and did the upper part of the face with a Pink Wink of Stella to have some shimmer.

The scalloped square was cut from Pixie paper and I used a navy for the Square Frame.

I cut another center square from Bubblegum and stamped a few hearts using coordinating ink.

A banner was cut from white with Blueprints 29. The sentiment was stamped in brown.

I liked what I made but I wanted a little more! I had a die cut of balloons from Mama Elephant Up We Go I got from Joann's. I colored this bouquet and added it at top under the frame to try and give the illusion that they are up in the air.

Thank you for stopping by!

Happy Birthday with The Stamps of Life

Hello!

Just popping in today to share a card I made using the Sizzix Drop In Happy Birthday Card Front Dies.

I began with a base of green card stock and cut a piece of patterned paper to the same size as the card front.

Next, using three Spectrum Sparkle and Wink of Stella markers I started coloring a piece of watercolor paper to get a sparkly ombre effect. I love these markers. They are so addictive and just beautiful.

I die cut the paper using the big birthday die:

After it was all assembled, I added a few puffy Popsicle stickers that were included in this month's Card Kit Club.

Birthday Wishes with The Stamps of Life

Hello!

I wanted to share a card today that I made using the newest card kit from The Stamps of Life.

I die cut the patterned paper from the Flower Power die set. This was added to green card stock after I added orange ribbon.

The white circle was cut from the die included in the Card kit. It was added to a yellow circle also cut from just the outer circle. This is a "drop-in" die where you can leave the cut image in the paper.

A trio of green sequins was added last.

Papertreyink June Blog Hop

Hello!

Today is the Papertreyink June Blog Hop!

This is the inspiration photo from Anthropologie:

I was stumped by this photo this month. I finally remembered that I had some glassine paper from We R memory keepers that you can use to make gift bags. I die cut a blue ombre piece using the large die from MFT Blueprints 10 and attached it to a white card stock base.

Using the circle dies from Don't Forget to Write I cut the shapes using Melon Berry and Harvest Gold.

The fruit comes from the preprinted pieces included in the PTI Still Life Summer Make It Mini Kit.

I added a trio of clear sequins and ribbon in Harvest gold to finish it up.

Here is a close up of the fruit - it so beautiful and realistic:

Paper Smooches Guest Designer Search July

Hi!

Just wanted to share a card today I made for the PS Guest Designer Search July.

I stamped several vegetables from Vegtastic and die cut them. I then colored a tomato with Copics.

These veggies are so cute to me, especially in the summer. I also really like the sentiments.

When I saw Let's Ketchup - that was the one for this card!

I kept this card simple by adding a little green twine from The Stamps of Life. I really wanted the tomato to be the focal point.

My Favorite Things Camp Create Glitzy Glitter Day 5

Hello!

My final cards with My Favorite Things Camp Create Glitzy Glitter Day 5!

I loved the inspiration video that was shown on Day 5 but I don't have lots of glitter. I decided to die cut some butterflies from Pixie card stock ( a light purple from The Stamps of Life) but before cutting I added Stick It adhesive to the front and back to make it a sticker.

I applied Dazzling diamonds glitter (stampin' Up) all over the front and burnished it onto the cut.

I cut two pieces of white card stock to 4 x 5.25 and quickly stenciled with Distress inks using Papertrey Ink stencils. I used Worn lipstick and Salty Ocean.

I stamped the sentiment with Lawn Fawn inks using Written in Watercolor. Love this big, bold stamp set. It really helps quickly fill a card front.

I added the butterflies and added one to a white card base; the other to a pixie card base.

This was such a fun challenge!!

My Favorite Things Camp Create Day 4: Sensational Sliders

Hello!

Here is another card I created for Camp Create Day 4: Sensational Sliders.

I used the some the contents of my newest Paper Pumpkin to create this card. If you aren't familiar with this product, this is a monthly kit from Stampin' Up that includes stamps, ink and the items to create cards or treat bags, etc.

I stamped a watermelon and hand cut it since there is no die.

I cut the slider hole with Lawn Fawn's Slide on over in the card base. The watermelon was added to a penny to slide.

A banner was cut and stamped with It's Your day. I added the green sequins from Trick or Treat Pretty Pink Posh to finish it off!

My Favorite Things Camp Create Day 3: Spectacular Shakers

Hello!

Another card with My Favorite Things and Camp Create Day 3: Spectacular Shakers!

I used a kit to create the shaker card. It is from Queen and Company. They are so much fun. I added "diamonds" to the center of each butterfly. The paper was die cut with the coordinating Butterfly die that works with this kit.

It was adhered and the die cut - Many Thanks was added in light purple. I added clear wink of stella on the words. Finally, I glued down few sequins.

Sending Sunshine with My Favorite Things Camp Create

Hello!

There is a bonus today:  Camp Create Bonus: Divine Dry Embossing!

I die cut a heart from a Stampin' Up heart framelit in Kraft. I dry embossed the word Sunshine from Papertrey Ink's Summer Still Life Mini kit. I stamped the word Sending in Melon Mambo ink.

The background paper was cut using the base from MFT Stamps Blueprints 26.

A light pink ribbon was tied on before adhering the paper to the Kraft card base and the heart was popped up in the center. I added some die cut hearts from MFT Stamps Blueprints 29.

There is still time to participate in Camp Create!

My Favorite Things Camp Create Day 2: Remarkable Resist

Hello!

Time for MFT Camp Create Day 2: Remarkable Resist!

Embossing is the first technique I ever learned in stamping and I have always loved it. It is easy and can really pack a punch on a card. I am excited to use that today for Camp Create.

I began with a piece of watercolor paper. I embossed stars from Primitive Pumpkins with Hero Arts White Puffy powder. It leaves a raised image and adds some nice texture.

I sponged Distress Blueprint Sketch and Candied apple on the top and bottom and left the middle white to resemble the colors of the American Flag.

Then I stamped the sentiment using Papertrey Ink Wet Paint Alphabet and Numbers on white card stock using Real Red and Night of Navy ink (Stampin' Up).

This was cut in a rectangle and I stamped a few more stars from the same stamp set.

Red and white twine were added last.

MFT Sketch Challenge #336

Hello!

Time for this week's MFT Sketch Challenge # 336.

I cut the banner from scrap card stock using the Sunny Studio's Fishtail Banners II. These are awesome for making a quick, cute banner!

The heart was cut using framelits from Stampin' Up. It was stamped with dark blue and MFT Stamps Written in Watercolor.

These were mounted on a green card base. A small banner from MFT Blueprints was cut in yellow and added to the heart.

Three tiny pearls and a ribbon finished it off.

My Favorite Things Camp Create Day 1: Wonderful Watercolor

Hello!

Time to go to camp! Camp Create that is!

Today is My Favorite Things Camp Create Day 1: Wonderful Watercolor! We were challenged to create something watercolored. The video by Stephanie featured a beautiful galaxy. I tried to create one of my own but wasn't very successful the first time.

I tried several more times, using a variety of different colors. When it was close to dry I added a few splatters of white shimmer paint.

The sentiment is from My Favorite things and has become a favorite. I cut it 3 times to add a little dimension.

The watercolor piece was added to glitter paper and the base was black card stock.

Can't wait to see what we are creating tomorrow!

Papertrey Ink Create Along with Us

Hello!

It is time for Create Along with Us: June 2017 over at Papertrey Ink.

We are asked to make something that caught out eye during release week.

I was inspired by this card from Heather Nichols:

I began with PTI Stamper Select White card stock cut to 3.75x5. I clear embossed the stars all over using the star from Stamping' Up Wonders of Christmas.

I recently got several of the new Tim Holtz Distress Oxide ink pads. I blended Fossilized Amber, Peeled Paint and Worn Lipstick over the card in a similar pattern to Heather's card. The ink seemed to be very creamy and blended well.

I die cut Celebrate from PTI Good Times die three times with white card stock. Then I embossed "It's Your Day" in gold on black paper.

I added some gold twine from American Crafts DIY shop (I love the sparkle on this stuff!) and mounted it all on Simply Chartreuse and Raspberry Fizz.

Thanks for the inspiration, Heather Nichols and Papertrey,  I can't wait to see the whole release!

Have a great day!

CASology #252 - Insect with My Favorite Things Fancy Butterflies

Hello!

Today I created cards for  the Casology #252 Insect challenge.

I die cut large butterflies from Stampin' Up Flowerpot Designer Paper (retired) and cut the solid bases in Crushed Curry and Daffodil Delight.

The dies I used are discontinued from My Favorite Things called Fancy Butterflies.

The first card is very simple - I added one of the large butterflies to a white card base and stamped the sentiment in Crushed Curry.

On the second card, I sponged Crushed Curry in a circle and added one of the butterflies on top of it. Then I stamped the Sentiment in Tangelo Twist. This stamp came from the most recent Paper Pumpkin kit from SU. I added a few gold glitter epoxy dots to the wings.

The cards side by side:

Just Keep Swimming with The Stamps of Life

Hello!

I wanted to share a card I made using TSOL Fish2stamp and dies.

I created a card base from green card stock and added a piece of patterned paper on top from Friend Paper Pad, also from The Stamps of Life.

Next, I stamped one of the fish on Copic-friendy paper and colored it in shades of blue.

The frame was cut from gray paper and I embossed the sentiment using Ranger Platinum Powder.

I popped up the fish and Frame but decided to add some "bubbles" to the green side of the card using Versamark. Finally, I added more bubbles using some glitter epoxy dots that were included in a previous Stamps of Life Card kit. They are so beautiful and fun!

You can see the sparkle a little better in this picture:

Wonderful Wednesday Challenge with Stampin' Up Terrific Tulips

Hello!

I have a card to share that uses a retired Stampin' Up set, Terrific Tulips, that is still terrific!!!

I am in a stamp club led by my awesome SU demo Claudia. We met last night and she showed us a beautiful card that used the new tulip set in the catalog.

This is the card we made:

It reminded me of this old set so she challenged me to recreate the card using that set.

I die cut the shape in white card stock and stamped the tulips with Pretty in Pink and Melon Mambo. I hand cut (eek!) the tulips and stamped the leaves in Gumball Green on the white. I added a sentiment to the right of the leaves and popped up the tulips and added a yellow ribbon.

The white went onto a piece of chevron paper from The Stamps of Life.

All of this was added to a black card base.

This was fun to use something old!!!

Hello Box Card with The Stamps of Life

Hello!

Today I am sharing a box card I made with The Stamps of Life Box Card Set. I love box cards and I know you can make them by hand but when I saw this set in person last year at the Scrapbook Expo in Duluth, GA at the The Stamps of Life booth, I knew I needed to try it!!!

I cut the box from black card stock. Then I cut the various pieces from patterned paper.

One sheet from TSOL Blessings Paper Pad, that has bees all over it, just happens almost exactly fit the Bee die from Sizzix Framelits Windows with Dies designed by Stephanie Barnard (owner of The Stamps of Life).

I decided to try it on the paper and see if it would cut and it did! Stephanie always says in her videos she wants us to use her stuff over and over again. This was a fun way to do so!

You can see the outline of the bee cut out:

Here is the box card with all the paper attached and the "inside" glued in.

I die cut some black stems and started gluing bees and flowers onto them.

Here is the finished product with all the things glued in to the box:

Now folded up for mailing:

These do take a little time (mostly to plan out what to use) but they are so worth it!!!
