MFT Color Challenge #69

Today I am sharing a card I created using the colors in this week's Color Challenge.

These cards were inspired by a recent blog post from Yana. She created some simple but gorgeous backgrounds using a small brayer. I decided to try it out for myself.

I was able to fit three colors on my white card stock. I used Bristol card stock. I am finding that Bristol is my go-to paper for blending and inking. I love the way it takes ink.

I die cut some gray feathers from MFT Accent It Feathers (discontinued) and added on top of the rolled background. I used Smokey Slate to die cut Thanks

I added coordinating ribbon on the bottom.

MFT Sketch Challenge 333

Today I am sharing a card using this sketch from My Favorite Things:

I started with a green card stock base and added a layer of patterned paper. This paper is from The Stamps of Life Together Paper Pad. It is bright and bold! I chose some other pieces of paper, also from TSOL, and cut those at an angle to complete the sketch.

Since I was using a lot of patterns, I decided to cut out bold words, Hugs and Friend.

I added yellow paper to the back to help the words stand out. I finished it off with coordinating ribbon.Very bright and cheery. Just what I want for a friend who needs a hug!

Papertrey Ink Create Along with Us

Hope you are having a great day!

I wanted to share a card I created to participate in Create Along with Us May 2017. Each month Papertrey Ink lets us share a card we made based on something we spotted during the Release countdown.

The card that caught my eye is from Stephanie Gold.

I began with a Kraft base and used the PTI Vertical Cover Plate and white card stock to create the top layer. I am still in need of graduation cards so I chose Large and small sketched stars to be my focal point in the the top left corner.

The banner was cut in white using the Quilted tag die. The sentiment is from an Avery Elle set.

I added some yellow and white twine to finish it off. I think in the picture it is rather boring but in real life it looks better! : )

Foil Rainbow with Papertrey Ink and DecoFoil

I wanted to share a card I made using a stencil and Transfer Gel.

The stencil is from Papertrey Ink - the Make It mini Sunshine & Rainbows. After applying the Transfer Gel using a palette knife, I let it dry until clear.

Then I laid Rainbow colored Decofoil on top of the image and ran it through my laminator on the 5mm setting.

Here is what I got from that process:

I mounted it onto a base of Vintage Jadeite from PTI.

Before mailing, I will add a small sentiment to the front.

You can see several more examples of this technique (it is really fun!) click HERE.

Paper Smooches Guest Designer Search - June

Just stopping by to quickly share a card I made to participate in the PS Guest Designer Search - June.

This card features several Paper Smooches stamp sets - CalicoDelightful Greetings and Botanicals 3.

I just really wanted to stamp, no die cutting allowed in the craft room today! : )

I pulled out my Lawn Fawn inks and stamped the sentiments. Next I stamped assorted flowers around and lastly stamped the green leaves.

Twine was tied on and a trio of pink iridescent sequins were added next.

Lawn Fawn card stock was used as well.

Bravo Card

I am continuing to work on graduation cards and I wanted to share another one today.

I am entering the MFT Card Challenges Sketch #332.  I am really enjoying these sketches because they help me make cards quickly. I often sit and think and nothing comes to mind but it is much easier with the help from My Favorite Things!

I cut a piece of patterned paper from The Stamps of Life Friends Paper Pad to 5.5 x 3.75. I mounted this on a piece of Pixie Card stock

Using Avery Elle Sweet Scallops, I cut the oval with midnight and pixie card stock.

The Bravo was stamped with navy ink.

I die cut the banner from MFT Blueprints 8 and stamped the sentiment.

Lastly, I added three small wooden stars.

Papertrey Ink Make It Monday #284 Background Stamping with Sentiment Stamps

Today I am sharing a card I made for this week's PTI Make It Monday #284 Background Stamping with Sentiment Stamps.

You can watch Melissa's video to see more details.

I need thank you cards for teachers as next week is out final week of school.

I pulled out an older set, Teacher Mini Stamp Set and used the sentiments to stamp the background. This is one of the first sets I ever bought from Papertrey and it is still a favorite.

I added the white piece to a Pure Poppy card base. Next, I die cut the scalloped circle from Harvest Gold and added it on top of a circle of New Leaf. The sentiment was also cut from new Leaf using a My Favorite Things die.

Two apple shapes from Apple Mini Stamp set were cut and added on top of the circles. One was stamped with Jalapeno Lawn Fawn ink.

Finally, I added New Leaf ribbon.

I can never thank all the teachers my children have each year. They give so much of themselves and I am always grateful for all that they do!

Supplies used:
Lawn Fawn Inks
Papertrey Card stock
Lawn Fawn Stitched Circle Dies
Papertrey Teacher Mini and Apple Mini set and die

Way to Go with Papertrey Ink

It has been a busy few weeks as we are winding down school. I finally got a moment to make a card.

I need several cards for high school graduates. This makes me feel a little old (I feel like I was just graduating...)!! Haha!

This card is for a future student of The University of Georgia (my alma mater) so I chose Red & Black for my color scheme.

I used PTI Splits Way To go stamp set and stamped the large image in archival black. I added the accent colors and stamped "Way to Go" and "Graduate" using Lawn Fawn Chili Powder.

I die cut the image out and popped it up using foam dots. I scattered around some black, silver and gold sequins and stars.

I am entering this card in the Casology # 248 Commencement challenge.

I miss you with The Stamps of Life

We had a busy, but wonderful time this past weekend. My two daughters performed in their school play (Shrek Jr.) and we are so proud of them!

Here is a picture of them in costume (Wicked Witch and Cinderella):

I love this bike stamp set from The Stamps of Life. I stamped the bike in black and colored it blue with watercolor pencils.

I die cut the rectangles next using patterned paper and blue card stock.

Before adding these two pieces to the Kraft base, I stamped hearts around using Versamark.

Pink ribbon was added to the layers and the bike was popped up on them. Next, I added the basket. Before adhering that I added several die cut flowers under and on top. That was popped up with foam dots.

The sentiment was stamped on an oval cut from the Dotted oval set.

Thanks Teacher - Gift card holder with The Stamps of Life

Today I am sharing gift card holder I created as a thank you for my child's teacher.

I chose a piece of The Stamps of Life Patterned Paper that has Thanks written all over it.

I ran the paper through my Big Shot using TSOL Pillow Box Die. This is one of favorite dies ever because you can quickly create pillow boxes with one die cut.

I added the center die cut in the middle and ran it through again to cut out the window.

I made a shaker window that included sequins. I stamped the You're Awesome from Waffle Flower onto blue card stock.

To finish it off, I tied some coordinating ribbon around the box.

Sea You Soon with The Stamps of Life

Today I am sharing a card I created for MFT Stamps Card Sketch Challenge #330.

I began with a Kraft card base and cut a piece of patterned paper using the large frame from MFT Blueprints #29. The paper is from The Stamps of Life.

I then cut a piece of Guava card stock and added a Kraft circle on top of it. The sentiment was stamped on a green banner, also from Blueprints 29.

The turtle was stamped on patterned paper using black archival ink and then die cut.

The stamp and die set are TSOL Turtles2Love.

Papertrey Ink Make It Monday # 283 Watercolor Wash Backgrounds

Today I am sharing a card I created for the PTI Make It Monday # 282 Watercolor Wash Background.

Laurie shared her first Make It Monday video today featuring watercolor.

I really have come to love watercolor, probably because it is messy and I am messy and imperfect!

I began by embossing leaf images from the Garden Gate stamp set using white powder.

I wet the paper and added two colors of green. While this was drying I pulled out Gran's Garden and started stamping.

This is the first time I have used this set and let me just say I am in complete love with it. When I saw the release countdown featuring these flowers I couldn't wait to try it. I love that there so much stamping and the images are bold!

Next, I die cut the flowers and stems and arranged them on my card stock. I cut a frame in black and assembled the bouquet and adhered it down.

For the last step I die cut thanks from My Favorite Things using PTI Luxe Gold Cardstock.

Thanks for stopping by!

I am including this card in the SSS Wednesday Blog Anything Goes challenge.
