Happy Birthday with The Stamps of Life

Hello!

I wanted to share a card I made using the Sizzix Half Card Panels Die set and TSOL Happy Birthday Circle Dies.

I placed the heart half panel on a piece of yellow card stock and ran it through my Big Shot machine. This "dropped in" the image.

Behind that panel I cut a piece of red foil card stock from a DCWV paper stack. You can see the shine in this picture:

The balloon paper was glued on and a strip of green striped paper was added beside the balloons.

A white and blue circle were cut next using the Happy Birthday circle dies. On the white circle I stamped a random pattern using a tiny stamp that came in another TSOL card club kit.

The red circle was cut from the same DCWV foil paper and added to the white and blue shapes.

Blessed card

Hello!

Today I have a card to share I made for the MFT Sketch Challenge #329.

These challenges are so great because I am in need of a spark of creativity this week and this is just what I needed!

All the paper I used is from The Stamps of Life April Card Kit Club paper pack, called the Darling Collection.

I cut all the paper to size and starting gluing layers down. The bright pink banner was cut from MFT Blueprints 8.

The flower was stamped and die cut using the TSOL Newport Flower set. A pearl was added to the middle.

Also included in the same card kit are wooden word pieces. I used glue dots to add the "Blessed" to the bottom.

Thank you for stopping by!

Papertrey Ink Make It Monday #281 Patterns Behind Die Cut Windows

Hello!

The card I am sharing today was made for this week's PTI Make It Monday #281 Patterns Behind Die Cut Windows.

Dawn has a great video on creating your own pattern or using pattern paper behind a die cut window.

I began with New Leaf card stock base and cut a circle out of the middle. I then cut a piece of patterned paper and adhered inside. This paper is from Vintage Linens.

Next, I die cut several "Flowers" using the Scribbles Die set in shades of pink.

I added these to the bottom of the circle area and paper pieced the flowers together. I didn't end up loving the flowers, but since I spent a fair amount of time on them I pressed on.

I die cut Wish Big in Cocoa Bean and stamped a banner in New leaf adding that to the bottom of the card.

I tied on some ribbon and added three clear drops to finish off the card.

Have a Succulent Birthday with The Stamps of Life

Hello!

I wanted to share a card I created using The Stamps of Life Succulents2stamp and die set.

This was a club set a little while ago and it has become a favorite. I have always liked succulent themed items and now they are so popular!

I began by adding Sizzix adhesive to several pieces of green card stock from The Stamps of Life.

Then I started die cutting several of the shapes in each color. This gave me a nice selection of succulents whenever I needed them.

After this, I die cut a piece of artichoke card stock using Sizzix Flip-Its Large Circle die set. I used patterned paper to create the top layer and glued them down.

I cut out a flower pot in rust colored paper and stamped the image with brown ink. Before gluing down I added a piece of Gingersnap twine.

A large cactus was added to the pot and adhered to the front circle.

The sentiment was stamped on the back in SU Old Olive ink.

Finally, I added die cut succulents all over. They are so cute!

This is the front of the card:

Here is the card when it is "flipped" open!

Happy Birthday with My Favorite Things

Hello!

Today I wanted to share a card I created using the My Favorite Things Blueprints 26.

These blueprints are fun because:

You get lots of dies that work together

MFT gives you a template you can download so you always have an idea to make card, especially in a hurry!

I began this card by choosing black as my card base. I use the largest die to cut the balloon - although it is just the bottom of it. The gold foil striped paper is from DCWV.

The happy was cut from gold foil stock and the Birthday was cut using DCWV Glimmer Paper.

A little gold string was tied onto the balloon and all of it was mounted on the base.

This die set would allow you to mass produce these cards. I can see making these in different colors and creating a gift set for a friend.

Friends Card with The Stamps of Life

Hello!

Today, I felt like working on my blending technique so I pulled out a piece of Bristol card stock and some Distress inks and made this background:

I am not the strongest blender but I have found better success overall with Bristol Vellum paper. It seems that the ink takes a second to sink into the paper so I have the opportunity to move the ink around before it makes the dreaded circle in the middle of your paper! Has that ever happened to anyone else???

I wasn't too concerned about it being perfect either because I ended up using it for a die cut.

I used the Sizzix Friends Background Dies and my precision base plate to cut it out.

I mounted it onto Harvest Gold paper from Papertreyink.

Guava seam binding was added to the side and 3 acrylic flowers were added onto top of the die cut flowers.

Hello with Tulips and the Stamps of Life

Hello!

Today I put together a card with a blended panel. I did some ink blending over the weekend and this was left over.

I made it using Distress inks and Bristol Vellum paper. I find that this paper helps me blend a little easier instead of just regular white card stock.

I stamped some tulips at the bottom using Garden Green ink and Certainly Celery from Stampin' Up.
The tulips are Candy and Cranberry ink from The Stamps of Life.

Next, I cut the hello word and shadow from white and Candy card stock.

I ended up cutting the two layers with the Sizzix Dotted Rectangle Dies and mounting them at an angle on the Kraft base.

A little Gingersnap twine was tied on before gluing it all down.

After the Hello was added, I colored it with Clear Wink of Stella for a little shimmer.

A Tweet Bird-day with The Stamps of Life

Hello!

I wanted to share a card I created today using TSOL Birdcage2Stamp set and dies.

The base of this card began with a piece of Seaglass card stock from TSOL. I added to this a pink piece that was cut using the Sizzix Half Card Panels die set.

This set allows you to either "drop in" the image (it will stay in the card when you die cut it) or you can add the included frame around the die and it will give you a die cut that you can use on a project.

To see more information on this click HERE. The video on this page is Stephanie explaining how this works. It lets you have even more versatility with your dies.

After gluing down the pink piece I cut a piece of patterned paper. I placed a piece of coordinating yellow and white striped ribbon over the two panels and added it on top of the card.

I have the stamp and die set that match this patterned paper so I die cut the bird cage using white for the base and sea glass for the top. I earlier stamped and die cut some birds and glued them all down.

Finally, I added the stamped sentiment that was also die cut and stamped using Seaglass ink and paper.

This bird set is so sweet.

All supplies are from The Stamps of Life.

Easter Blessings with Avery Elle

Hello!

Just stopping by for a moment to share a card I created using Avery Elle Easter Blessings Stamp set.

I began by embossing the image and sentiment onto watercolor paper using Stampin' Up Classy Copper Embossing powder.

I colored the image and let it dry. In the meantime, I die cut two pieces of PTI Amethyst Allure using the Sizzix Mini Half Card die. This allows you to create a gate fold card. I could have die cut a shape that comes in the kit but I decided to use my watercolor panel on the front and glued down one side to allow it to open.

I tied a gold ribbon around it to keep it closed.

I will add a piece of white card stock inside to write the sentiment as I will be giving this card to one of my daughters tomorrow on Easter.

Hello card with My Favorite Things

Hello!

Today I have a card to share I made based on the Card Challenges Sketch #328.

I began with a new card stock pad from DCWV. This pad is all rose gold. Some with glitter, some embossed, some just rose colored, etc. It includes a beautiful selection.

I die cut the embossed paper using the MFT Stitched Rectangle Scallop Frames. I glued both the inside and out frame pieces down.

I cut a diagonal strip on rose glitter paper and added it on top of the frame.

The sunflower was created using Tim Holtz distress markers. I stamped the image with two shades of yellow and brown was added for the center.

The stem was stamped with Crushed Olive. I used a watercolor brush to color in the flower using the ink already on the paper.

Rose gold sequins were added to the center.

The banner was cut using Blueprints 8 in yellow card stock.

Hello was cut from brown paper and added on top of the banner. Clear Wink of Stella was added as well.

Here is the finished card:

Happy Bloomin' Birthday

Hello!

I am sharing a card I created using PTI Make It Mini Bloom & Grow kit that I made for Create Along with Us edition.

Papertrey Ink encourages us to "Create Along with Us" during their Release week.

This was the card that jumped out at me on Release Day 1 that Nichole made:

I used a Kraft card stock base and then cut out the largest frame in Kraft from the PTI Mix and Mat: Flourishes dies set.

I mounted this and added a die cut flower and pot. Before adding it though, I did stamp a Happy Birthday sentiment.

This is a very simple card but I hope it will be a lovely happy birthday wish to someone!

Thanks Nichole for the inspiration!

My Favorite Things Color Challenge 66

Hello!

I wanted to share a card I created for MFT Color Challenge 66. I don't think I have ever participated in a color challenge so I am excited to try it today!

I stamped MFT Fancy Flowers onto watercolor paper and used a mask as well so I could stamp the flowers behind each other.

I did a really quick watercolor using Stampin Up colors: So Saffron, Island Indigo, Cherry Cobbler, Old Olive and Pumpkin Pie. I don't have any MFT inks so I used similar shades.

After this, I decided to trim around the flowers and leaves and mount what was left onto Island Indigo card stock.

I stamped and embossed the sentiment in Old Olive embossing powder. This sentiment came from Timeless Tulips from Sunny Studio.

I added some jute string because this card became very rustic to me once it was watercolored. When I have time, I will add a few sequins.

Easter egg Cartons

Hello!

Today I wanted to share a special project I have been working on this week. With Easter right around the corner, I like to try and prepare a special treat or gift for our Meals on Wheels recipients at our church.

I ended up teaching 4th and 5th grade Sunday school yesterday so I decided it would be a great opportunity for the children to help me with this!

I picked up 18 paper egg cartons at my local Target. I happened upon them one day so I bought all they had.

I wanted to fill the carton with plastic eggs so the children put candy in 3 of the eggs and wrote encouraging notes or scripture and placed them in 2 other eggs.

The last space left I filled with an alcohol dyed egg. You use white Easter eggs and Alcohol Ink from Ranger to create these little treasures. They are absolutely addictive. The color combinations are endless.

You can see how to create your own eggs with a video from Tim Holtz RIGHT HERE.

The last egg I left empty, to represent the Tomb that was left empty after Jesus was resurrected.

The children then decorated the boxes and wrote cards I made using Lawn Fawn pre-made cards and I added a die cut cross from Paper Smooches.

I love to see what the kids do:

When everything was finished they taped the cards on top of the egg cartons:

I pray these will be a blessing to those who receive it. I know I am blessed tremendously every time I get to spend time with our precious children.

Friends card with The Stamps of Life

Hello!

We have had a fun, busy weekend but I did squeeze in time to make one card.

I pulled out the Sizzix die Friends and dropped it in the pink card stock. It leaves behind this intricate, beautiful die cut with the words "friends" in different fonts and sizes. I put a piece of Pixie card stock behind to help the words show up. I want to add a little more definition so I went over some of the words and flowers with a light pink wink of Stella pen. Finally I added a pearl in the center of the flowers. I decided to keep it simple because I want the words to be the star of the card.

The card looks a little flat in the photo. I had a hard time getting good lighting today. It is lovelier in person I think!

Spring is Here with The Stamps of Life

Hello!

Today I have two cards to share. If you have ever visited my blog, you know I am fan of using both the positive and negative space on a card from my die cuts.

Let me start with the first card, which inspired me to make the second one! Haha!

I am definitely experiencing Spring fever this week so I pulled out The Stamps of Life Bunny4Easter.

I glued down a piece of patterned paper onto a white card base and then die cut the bunny out. This left me with a space to fill.

After stamping a bunny in black on white card stock, I did a very light watercolor with pink on parts of him using Candy ink.

The bunny was glued down in the opening and then I decorated the inside. I wanted there to be eggs inside (from the eggs I cut a few weeks ago). I also stamped some grass and a flower.

So this is what you find when you open it:

I finished off the front the card with a die cut tag stamped with, "He is Risen."

A trio of paper flowers was added around the tag.

The card opened from the front with the bunny peeking from the back:

On to the second card! Since I had this lovely die cut left I decided to cut some frames from Sizzix Dotted Rectangle Dies using coordinating card stock.

I decided against stamping the bunny on the paper because I was worried it wouldn't show up enough. This became the bunny's backside hopping away!

I added a pearl to represent cotton tail. My husband isn't sure you can tell it is the back, but I am going with it!!!

The background was created by stamping a single flower all over. The two dotted frames were added and a trio of tiny dots were stamped around the bunny.

Thank you so much for stopping by!!
