A Stamps of Life/Sizzix Flower Card

We have had a fun weekend - we decided to get a cat yesterday! Our two daughters are over the moon. His name is Hobbs and he is a 2 year old we got from our local Humane Society. He really is the sweetest. It seems like we have had him furever!

I have been busy with him so I made a quick card to share today.

I used the Sizzix Half A2 Card Dies to cut two pieces of orange card stock. After cutting the pieces, I used the flower outline die to cut the center of the card. I then die cut a flower using blue and mounted it on a green outline.

A piece of patterned paper was added to the front panels that is has the same flower. Two cork banners and blue ribbon round out the card.

Inside contains a piece of patterned paper and a strip of scalloped cork.

Watercolor Kindness / The Stamps of Life Card Kit Club

I am loving the new Die in this month's The Stamps of Life Card Kit Club.

You can use it two ways, either cut the word out using both the word part and an outer frame OR you can leave the word in the paper.

I die cut a heart in pink card stock and then ran it through my machine again, cutting the "kindness" and leaving it in the heart.

The base was created by scribbling some watercolor crayons all around and adding some water.

All of this was mounted to green card stock.

Simple and sweet today!

Love Card with Sizzix A2 Card Die

Hope you are having a wonderful day. It is almost the weekend and I am ready for it!

Today I have a card I created using the Sizzix Half A2 Card die designed by Stephanie Barnard (owner of The Stamps of Life).

You cut two pieces to create the card base. I chose Guava, a bright pink.

After cutting two card bases you line them up and use any die shape to cut the center. There are many wonderful shapes included this die set such as a cupcake and butterfly.

I had out the new TSOL Love Heart Dies and used the large heart die.

The inside heart die was cut with patterned paper.

I used a scallop punch to create some circles from a sheet of The Stamps of Life paper.

This is such a cute die set and the possibilities are endless.

The Stamps of Life January Card Kit featuring Kindness Die

Hi there!

This is my second post today, you can see my first post HERE.

I have a card I made using The Stamps of Life January Card Kit. Included in the kit is this beautiful Kindness die. You can either cut it out using the border die or you can leave the die cut in the paper. It gives you a lot of versatility.

I used watercolor crayons from the Recollections line at Michaels stores. They introduced these originally last year but have added them in their line at the store so you can still purchase them.

I really like the shimmer in these. They remind me a lot of the Wink of Stella markers.

You can see the shimmer a little in this picture:

I mounted the watercolor paper to patterned paper and added that to a blue base. I die cut the Kindness using white card stock and I added adhesive before I cut it. It makes cutting and adhering intricate die cuts so much easier.

Papertrey Ink January 2017 Blog Hop Challenge

Today I am sharing a card I created for the Papertrey Ink January Blog Hop Challenge.

I am doing a craft purge right now and I came across this lovely black and white paper from Papertrey.

I thought this might work well for the challenge picture.

I added the patterned paper to black card stock and cut out a frame in white.

The flowers were stamped in shades of pink and the leaves in green and die cut.

A green "thanks" was adhered on top of the frame.

I decided to "go big" today with my sequins and finished by adding three clear ones.

Happy birthday Card / Stamps of Life Card Kit

Hope you are doing well today.

I am sharing a card with you today using The Stamps of Life January Card Club kit.

Included in the kit was a set of 4 paper banner pads. They are perfect for planners but I decided to use them on a card.

I stamped "Happy Birthday" on the pink banner.

I stapled them along the left side of the card on a piece of patterned paper. I added a blue felt balloon I had left over from a previous Card kit. After adhering it all to a piece of Guava Card stock, I glued one heart on the bottom right below the balloon.

The Stamps of Life Happy birthday card and gift bag

I wanted to share a couple of items I created today for the SSS Wednesday Challenge Anything But a card.

I did create a card, but I also created a gift bag to go with it!

I made the card base from orange card stock using a square die that is a set of layering dies from The Stamps of Life.

I continued to cut paper going down one size at a time. The sentiment comes from the stamp set included in January's Stamps of Life Card Kit.

Patterned paper was cut to size and added the orange bag. Then a heart and circle were added on top. The large Happy day comes from TSOL Love2Hug.

Then I punched a couple of holes and added some twine and ribbon to finish it off.

Here is the cheerful combo together:

Papertrey Ink Make It Monday #272 Masked Heart Wreaths

Today's card was made for the Make It Monday 272 Masked Heart Wreaths challenge. Melissa created a lovely card using a white heart cut out to stamp around and create a "wreath."

It took me a few tries to get this card made. I die cut my heart out of white card stock but it was heavyweight and made stamping difficult. Also, the original stamp set I chose was too small to give the impact I wanted.

Finally, I pulled out my Papertrey Ink Make It Market Mini Garden Gild Kit. This stamp ended up being a good size to create my wreath.

I stamped the images using inks from Lawn Fawn. After creating the wreath, I die cut the word "Enjoy" that is also included in the mini kit and glued it in the middle of the heart at an angle.

I kept this card simple so I finished it by adding a few sequins and adhered to dark blue card base.

Thanks Melissa for the fun challenge this week!

Have a great day and thank you for stopping by.

Lawn Fawn Happy Mail and Love Letters

Just dropping in to share a card I made for a dear friend.

Lawn Fawn recently released Lawn Fawn Happy Mail Die Set and I have fallen in love.

It is a set that helps you create an interactive mailbox. The flap folds up and you can insert a brad in the flag to make it move, too.

I began by creating my background using the Frosties stamps to stamp a lot of snowflakes. I also added a few tiny hearts.

Then I cut the mailbox with Lawn Fawn card stock.

There is also a coordinating stamp set called Love Letters and a die set to match.

Using this I stamped the letter on yellow, die cut it and added a little clear wink of Stella to the heart.

Inside the red envelope I stamped Happy b-day on white stock.

The birds were stamped on white and die cut. I colored them with a yellow Spectrum Noir Sparkle pen. They are so sweet!

Before I attached it all to the card, I added some white Liquid Applique to the top of the mailbox and after letting it dry for several hours I used a heat gun to get it puff up like snow.

It was all assembled and added to a blue card base.

This is such a fun set. I can't wait to try some more things with it.

Stamps of Life Sending you Love

I wanted to share a card I created using The Stamps of Life stamp sets and dies.

I subscribe to the Stamps of Life Club and recently the stamp set included a cute bear. In the set is also a heart stamp that I used to create the background. I started with Cranberry ink and worked my way down to Candy ink. I really like the look of the falling hearts that I have seen in different samples so I decided to create my own.

The letter die and stamp are also in the Bear2stamp set so after die cutting some letters I added a couple of words.

I used shades of pink for the large die cut at the bottom of the card. I finished by adding some clear wink of Stella to several hearts.

Thank you for stopping by!

Paper Smooches Butterfly Duet - PS Guest Designer Search February

Hello! Just stopping by with a couple of cards I made for the Paper Smooches Guest Designer Search February.

I used the Paper Smooches Butterfly Duet dies to cut several butterflies from Ken Oliver Watercolor Patterned Paper.

After die cutting, I adhered them to a piece of watercolor card stock that had been colored with Spectrum Noir Sparkle pens.

I stamped the sentiment and mounted it on a light pink card base.

I used one of the pieces of paper with the negative space to create a second card. I simply trimmed down the paper and mounted on a bright green base and stamped a sentiment. The picture really doesn't do it much justice since I had to photograph at night.

A Trio of watercolor and gold featuring Altenew stamps

I created three cards today. I have been doing that more and more. When I make one I often make multiples. Sometimes I make them completely different but today I made them the same because I thought they were lovely. This was because of the amazing stamp set, not because of what I did!!!

I have been my Zig clean brush pens and trying to learn more about them. I have a small selection but I haven't used them as much as I would like. I watched a video to brush up on how to use them and got busy.

I created 3 watercolor backgrounds of similar design. Two using cool colors and one using warm colors.

I pulled out a set released last year that I just got called Altenew Best Mom. I remember when it came out thinking it was so stunning.

The main image I embossed over the watercolor using Gold Glory embossing powder from Stampin' Up.

I made two of them cool colors because I wanted to experiment and see if I like the way the card would look if I watercolored the embossed image. I used two shades of purple and two shades of green.

I ended up loving the result! I worried it might run all together but I dried the base really well and used just a tiny bit of water.

I mounted the panel to foiled card stock. I have mentioned it before but I really think it is fantastic and should be a staple in your craft stash! I can get it locally at my Jo-ann store. It is the DCWV 6x6 Foiled Cardstock Stack.

I adhered it to the Gold Foil piece and then attached to a coordinating card stock base.

Finally, I decided to forgo any sentiment on the front. I thought about a banner but this image is just so pretty I left it alone. It speaks for itself. I can always stamp a sentiment on the inside.

I am planning to make several more of these any make them into a box of stationary for teacher gifts.

Succulents and The Stamps of Life

I created a card today using a new set from The Stamps of Life.

I used The Stamps of Life Moresucculents2stamp set.

I began by stamping in waterproof ink the three succulents. This set is so cute.

I did a lot of watercoloring today with my Zig Clean Color markers so I decided to use them for this card. I used 3 different shades of green.

I die cut the images out with a circle die and put it at the edge of the card.

The paper is from a Stamps of Life patterned paper pad.

I mounted it all on green card stock. I added a small circle with a sentiment from the set.

Make it Monday #271 : 2016 A LA CARTE

Hi there!!

Today I am sharing a card I made for Make It Monday #271 A LA CARTE.

The challenge is to make a card from a previous Make It Monday Challenge that you may have missed or wanted to try.

I chose Make it Monday #243 Ink Blending Over Heat Embossing.

I really like to emboss. It was one of the first techniques I ever learned when I began stamping.

I stamped the celebrate and banner images and embossed with white powder.

Then I used some distress inks to blend over the images.

This set was included as a giveaway from Papertrey Ink with a qualifying order.

I created the banner from the die that is in this same set and stamped it with dark blue.

I sprayed the card with markers in hopes of adding a confetti feel to it.  Gold and white twine were added and it was mounted to 2 layers of card stock.

Thank you for stopping by and thanks Papertrey Inkfor the inspiration!!!

Watercolor Background and Up and Away

Hello! I created this card today using The Stamps of Life Hot4Balloons Stamp set.

I used 3 Distress markers to create my background by scribbling down some color and spraying with my handy Distress water bottle (must have!).

I die cut the white clouds from card stock and cut the sun from yellow card stock.

The balloon was die cut from red card stock and stamped with the chevron pattern and then I added the black outline.

I had a scrap of green flower paper that I added to the base and the sentiment was stamped on a banner die cut. This set is too cute. I plan to make many more cards with it. I am seeing hot air balloons in the stamping world right now to so this is right on trend.

My Favorite Things New Card Kit - Fancy Flowers

Today I opened up my new My Favorite Things Fancy Flowers Card Kit.

I stamped a piece of white cardstock all around the edges with different flowers from the kit.

The kit came with some gorgeous card stock. I used Coral Crush for the card base and die cut a scallop rectangle frame from Peach Bellini.

I die cut Friend from Peach Bellini. I laid out the letters (the die cuts each letter individually) and used a sticky note to transfer the word to the card in a straight line.

I am loving this new Scallop Rectangle set from My Favorite things!!

I sprinkled around several clear sequins.

I can't wait to have more time to make some more cards. This kit is really stunning!

Watercolor and Foiling

Hello there!

I hope you are having a great day. It is super cold here in GA so we are enjoying some family time at home. I was able to get some crafting time in!

I made a watercolor background out of Distress inks. I love how the ink reacts with water.

While waiting for the paper to dry I worked on my circle. I die cut the word Love out of double sided foam. I added pink foil to the top and adhered it to my watercolor.

Next I scattered a few red epoxy hearts around and tied on some twine.

It was mounted on red card stock.

Supplies used:
Distress inks (pinks and reds)
Pink Deco Foil sheets

Let's Celebrate

Hope you are well. This has been a good week spending time with my mom (she has been here since a tornado hit her town). We are starting to have a cold rain again here in GA and we are concerned about ice and snow which can make life very crazy here!

I recently got this stamp set from The Stamps of Life and I thought it would be fun to create a card with it, especially with the weather we are having this weekend.

I die cut several snowflakes from Sky card stock. After cutting several, I decided to use some new Spectrum Noir sparkle markers. I have some Zigs and wanted to try these. The blue colors I chose are very vibrant and very sparkly!!!!

I colored the snowflakes and let them dry. I cut the same color card stock for the base and stamped the smaller snowflake with Versamark ink.

I added the snowflakes and die cut the word "Celebrate" with double sided adhesive foam. I added the foam to the cream colored shadow.

Since both sides are sticky, I added pink foil to the top. The pictures aren't great due to our rainy day, but you can see the shine and shimmer which is what I wanted. It is prettier in person!

You can see the sparkle from the markers in the next two photos:

Have a Beary Happy Day

Hi there!

I have been enjoying some quality time with my mom today. She is here with me due to the fact that her town had a tornado and she has no power! We are thankful their house wasn't damaged.

I had stamped out some balloons last weekend at the top of white card stock but I didn't have a chance to finish it.

I had a new stamp set on my table from The Stamps of Life. It is the monthly club set and I finally got around to using it.

I stamped the bear in black ink and colored it with my copic markers. I die cut it out and added a cut die cut heart that also is in the stamp set.

The sentiment was stamped in black dye ink.

A little closer view of this adorable bear!

A Sunny Day - and Thank you!

I am still really liking circle dies right now. I die cut a red circle that says "Thank you." I always need lots of thank you cards.

I ended up making this card twice because I messed up the first one. I die cut patterned paper and then die cut a scallop circle. I realized I wanted the card to open and the sentiment would be attached to the card base inside.

I die cut the circle on the blue card stock but it didn't match up once I glued it all down. I finished it and realized the patterned paper was off center. You can see it on the left side of the card.

It is a pretty easy card so I made a second one. This time I die cut the patterned paper and glued it to the blue card stock. THEN I cut the circle. This allowed me to glue down the large die cut. Lesson learned!

Fabulous Freebie - It's Your Day

Hello there!

We are just getting back into the swing of school again and I wanted to share a card I made recently.

I subscribe to the Stamp Club from The Stamps of Life (TSOL). If you have visited my blog recently I have been making lots of cards with my TSOL products.

Stephanie Barnard, the owner, periodically sends club members little "freebie" stamps and this card features them.

It includes 2 stamps -

I have been using a lot of circles lately on my cards so when I saw this stamp set I decided to make a bold background paper.

I randomly stamped white card stock using bright colors.

I cut a strip of grape card stock and stamped "It's your day" the length of it.

I embossed the Happy birthday on a blue circle with Gold embossing powder. I added it to a white and yellow circle.

Thanks, Stephanie, for blessing us club members with treats like this!

Have a great day.
