Paper Smooches Blog Hop - October

It is that time again!

Check out the Paper Smooches Design Team Blog Hop HERE.

Their new release goes live September 30th at 8 pm Pacific time.

There are some really cute Fall themed stamps and dies.

Hop on over!

It's starting to feel like Christmas!

Hope you are having a great day!

We have finally dipped below 70 degrees at night here in Georgia, so that puts me in the mood for the holidays!

I am working on Christmas cards and created these cards using the The Stamps of Life September Card Kit.

The kit includes a patterned paper pad, coordinating card stock, a storage envelope, a stamp set, a die, washi tape, two ribbon rolls, twine, star garland and felt snowflakes. Whew, that is a lot of goodies in one box!

The felt snowflakes got me very excited. I definitely LOVE snowflakes. I decided to use these to make some cards and I wanted one to be the focal point.

I die cut the base from the Sizzix Large Circle Flipits set.

Stephanie has these really cool circle dies in her product line. Some of them cut out the outer edge and some of them stay in the paper, leaving a cute border. I used the outer circle from the Thank you Circle Dies set to make the heart border on the main circle of the card base. Look closely and you will see it. Just darling!

I added the patterned paper and placed one of the snowflakes in the center. I decided this card needed more snowflakes so I stamped with six snowflakes with Versamark and added the Happy Holidays sentiment from the stamp set.

The lovely striped red ribbon included in this kit was the last touch, a nice contrast to the gray.

The second card I made looks similar in that I used the same Circle Flipits Die but the colors are totally different (but this still has snowflakes).

Again, I cut the base and patterned paper. I used another circle set, Noel Circle Dies for the middle.
I added a piece of red paper to make the sentiment pop.

After the card was assembled, I added a few sparkle flowers on the card. These flowers were included in a previous Stamps of Life Card kit,

Finally, I used Clear Wink of Stella to make that Noel shimmer.

Both of these card went quickly and are just so much fun!

Have a great day.

Papertrey Ink September Blog Hop

Hello there!

Today, I created this card for the Papertrey Ink September Blog Hop.

The inspiration photo is very simple this month. It includes pine cones, Kraft and black paper as well as some twine. Perfect choice for this time of year.

I pulled out the Stampin' Up Christmas Pines bundle and die cut several sprigs from New Leaf and Ripe Avocado. I die cut pinecones using PTI Dark Chocolate and Classic Kraft, placing the kraft on top for contrast.

I also cut a scalloped black frame from the Papertrey Ink Shaker Shapes: Square Dies to frame the greenery.

The last step was to stamp ""Birthday Wishes" from PTI Birthday Style in black and add a gold and cream twine bow.

I can't wait to hop around and see all the other creations. They are always so inspiring to me,

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day!

Nutty about you

I created this card for Paper Smooches Guest Designer Search - October.

I used a small notecard base and stamped the acorn from Falling for you stamp set with black ink and colored it in with some brown and green copic markers. I added the heart and colored in shade of red and finished with the sentiments and a few gold sequins.

PTI Create Along with Us - September

It is almost time for a new Papertrey Ink Release.  This release is all about the Holidays. They will be here before we know it!

Papertrey Ink is letting us "create along" with their amazing design team. You can see more HERE.

I love all the stitched items these days and Papertrey has the neatest stitch dies.

Erin Lincoln has created more stitching dies this month. Please go see her amazing work!

Her creations (especially the new heart die) inspired me to pull out my Journal Card #7 and make something with it.

I recently got the candy corn and pumpkin face stitching dies and decided to make a gift card holder with these dies.

I cut 2 purple and 2 orange felt pieces using the Journal card die.

On one of these 2 pieces, I die cut the outline of the pumpkin face and the candy corn. This was my stitching guide.

I then die cut all the pieces I would need from the felt:
Candy corn pieces in white, yellow and orange
The pumpkin face from dark brown

I also cut "Boo" from brown felt. This sentiment is part of the Pumpkin Shaker card set.

After all that, I stitched everything up beginning with the front piece. I attached all my cute pieces before I stitched up the two pieces to make the pocket.

You are Faboolous!

Hi there!

The weather is getting a little cooler at night here in GA (even though the days are still hot) so it is putting me in the mood for fall.  I know it will be here eventually!

Today I made a card for the Paper Smooches October Guest Designer Search.

I began by blending two Distress ink colors, Wilted Violet and Shaded Lilac onto white cardstock.

I stamped some stars with white pigment ink on the top half of the paper.

I pulled out my Paper Smooches Ghoulfriends stamp set and embossed the ghost with white embossing powder on black cardstock and cut it out.

Then I stamped a pumpkin and a bat and also cut those out.

I used an oval die to cut the top half a piece of green cardstock to be the base for my scene.

I glued everything down and added a green glittered lollipop and a few candy corn (my absolute favorite Halloween candy).

The last thing I added was a die cut shape with the sentiment embossed in white.

These little ghouls are so cute!

Happy Birthday

Hello there!

Today I made another card using the Stamps of Life Card kit.

I really like Stephanie Barnard's flip-it cards so I thought I would use one with the August Stamps of Life card kit.

I cut a piece of blue cardstock for the base of the card. Then I chose a piece of patterned paper for the sides.

The brown and orange circles were cut from the scalloped dies in the flip-it kit.

The blue circle that says, "Happy birthday," is from the Sizzix Mini Circle Flip-it set.

The brown border circles were cut from the other side of the patterned paper.

Finally, I put some Clear Wink of Stella on the heart in the middle.

Supplies used:
The Stamps of Life Card Kit August
The Stamps of Life Large Circle #4 Flip-its
Sizzix Mini Circle Flip-its

I created this card today using The Stamps of Life (TSOL) stamps and dies.

I love apples. I eat one every day and I consider them the perfect fruit!

So when I received my monthly stamp set from TSOL I was thrilled it was apples.

I stamped the outlines of the apple three times and using the accompanying patterns stamp set to fill in the apples.

After die cutting the apples I attached them to yellow paper and stamped the sentiments.

I added some twine and assembled the card.

This was quick and easy but oh so cute!

Items used for this card:

The Stamps of Life Apples2stamp set
The Stamps of Life Patterns4apples set
The Stamps of Life Apples Dies
The Stamps of Life Patterned Paper
The Stamps of Life Clubs
Stampin' Up Gumball Green Cardstock
Yellow, Green and Red dye ink pads
Wink of Stella Clear Pen

Have a great day!

Make it Monday #260 From Black and White to Color

Hello there!

I created this card for this week's Make it Monday #260 From Black and White to Color.

I used the very versatile Peonies on Parade Coloring Sheets and colored them with some Copics.

I added it to a piece of Mood mix designer paper and embossed the image with copper powder. I put a small amount of copper metallic thread on the back of the sentiment.

Thanks for stopping by. Have a great day!
