Nuts for you

Hello! This card is for Papertreyink Make it Mondays #244 Score Lines.

I was stumped at first as to how I could incorporate some score lines into my project so I began flipping through my Papertreyink stamps. When my eyes fell on Nuts for you Mini stamp set I knew this is what I would use.

You see, we have been battling a squirrel in our attic!!! For the last month or so, he just appeared and I could hear him scurrying around as he proceeded to chew through almost all of our alarm system wires. We hired a professional to get him out and he was gone but returned yesterday. While I was making this card, I saw the squirrel run across the roof!

I started by creating score lines on dark brown paper. I die cut and stamped a squirrel and an acorn. I decided I needed something extra to put the squirrel on so I cut a leaf and stamped it with a woodgrain pattern. Lastly, I die cut a shape using wood paper and stamped the sentiment.

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day!!

Sweet wishes

Happy Easter! I am just returning from Spring Break with my children and I have really been missing crafting!!

I created a card for the Simon Says Stamp Blog Monday Challenge: Food and Drink.

I needed something quick and easy this week so I grabbed a die set and cut two pieces of cardstock, one white and one pink. I pulled out my Milk and Cookies set from Lawn Fawn which I love and use often. I stamped and cut the plate from blue paper and then stamped and cut 3 chocolate chip cookies. I colored them using a Brown Zig Wink of Stella marker. Those things are amazing!!!

After stamping "sweet wishes" and attaching the plate and cookies I had a lot of white space left! Eeek! So I had some leftover stamped images from Lawn Fawn Party Animals so I added one to the top of the card. I glued a present into his hands.

Thank you for taking a moment to drop by. I hope you have a wonderful day!
Happy Crafting!

A Starry Thank you

Hello! I have had a busy week and am looking forward to Spring Break with my children. We enjoy just having some downtime together and I enjoy some crating time!

I decided to create a Tim Holtz tag. I began by stamping a Dictionary background stamp using Archival Black Ink from Ranger. I glued down a piece of tissue paper and painted it with several shades of Distress paint.

I used a heat gun to speed up the drying time (love that tool). I used a star stencil and Metallic copper paste to add some stars. Next I punched a piece of paper and stamped Thank you in Archival ink and sprayed Wilted Purple Distress stain.

I had my alcohol inks out that I was using to created Easter eggs so I added purple onto a Tim Holtz metal star.

After all was dry, I assembled the tag and decided last minute to spray a little more Wilted Violet in the middle.

It went pretty quickly and I like the end result. Often I am unsure of where I am going when I start "distressing." I am learning that you just have to go along on the ride! It is always fun.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful day.

Balloons Galore!

I really like the Birthday Bash set from Paper Smooches and I have made many birthday cards with it.

I needed a birthday card this week and began stamping a piece of white cardstock with different balloon shapes in several colors all over the paper.

I die cut a yellow circle and stamped "happy birthday" in a dark green, Noble Fir, from Lawn Fawn.

After putting it on blue cardstock, I decided to add a single pink balloon and tied on a piece of blue twine to make it look like my balloon was on its way up!

I added some confetti around the balloon background as a final touch.

A Rainbow of Flowers

Today my Hero Arts Monthly Kit arrived! It is stunning. If you love flowers and coloring then pop by Hero Arts and check it out. There are a limited number of kits and when they are gone, they are gone.

The kit includes 4.25 x 5.5 coloring cards and this one jumped out to me. I used several Copic markers to color all the flowers and leaves. I kept it simple because I am very new to Copics and still learning how to use them.

I finished the card off by adding a "thank you" and a few blue pearls.

This was a fun way to relax after the end of a busy week.

I made this card for the A Blog Named Hero Rainbow Challenge.

Thanks bunches!

I experienced a severe case of "cuteness overload" today when I decided to pull out the  "Vegetastic" stamp set by Paper Smooches.

I stamped several vegetables on white Stamper's Select from PTI using Memento black ink and I elected to used my Copics since they were out on my desk.

After coloring and cutting my images, I attached them to a white card.

I die cut a piece of brown paper for the "dirt" and embossed the sentiment using white pigment ink.

The last step was to add some twine to the top as I wanted to keep it looking rustic.

Party Animal

Hello! I created a Birthday cards for the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Blog Challenge Touchy Feely.

I needed a birthday card this week and I decided a shaker card would be fun.

I began by die cutting a heart out of foam from the Avery Elle Geek Love set and repeated this on a piece of patterned paper. I stamped in red ink the Party Animal balloon for the centerpiece of the shaker. I added some blue sequins and put it all together. After adding the sentiment, "Happy Birthday," I attached the blue felt flower.

Lots went wrong with this card - I mounted the cardstock crooked and got paper stuck all over the foam but with a few trims here and there I was able to salvage it! Sometimes things just go that way.
Hopefully this card will bring a smile to someone's face.

Have a wonderful day and thank you for stopping by!!
