Love is in the Air

I recently received the Hero Arts Monthly kit that contained hearts galore! It is my current favorite kit. It came with an amazing heart die that cuts around the heart but leaves many different sized hearts attached so you can pop them up to achieve really cool effects.

I started my card by coloring watercolor paper with Tim Holtz Abandoned Coral and Candied Apple stains. I spritzed with water and let it dry and sprayed with some color shine, Coral and Cherry from Heidi Swapp for a little sparkle.

After die cutting the heart shape I stamp a sentiment (love this font from HA) and popped up the whole panel with foam tape on white cardstock. I added a piece of copper string from Stampin up as i thought it went with the warm red and coral.

I added a couple of red hearts around the sentiment to finish it off.

Hope you have a fantastic day! Thank you for stopping by.

A Simple Thanks

This card is for the Lawnscaping Challenge # 122 Watercoloring.

I had some leftover Lawn Fawn "Thanks" die cuts that I decided to watercolor and attach to a gold card base. Since the card is so busy, I used a simple white heart to pop up the thanks sentiment.

Have a great day!

Papertrey Ink January Blog Hop

Happy Monday everyone!

For once in my life, I knew exactly what I wanted to make when I saw the inspiration picture for the Papertreyink January Blog Hop.

I started with heavyweight black cardstock and mixed a drop of Mermaid Lagoon reinker from the Tim Holtz distress line with texture paste. I used a stencil to create the circles. I used the Papertreyink Stamp a faire dies from the 1960s set and die cut several shapes in orange. I stamped the orange pieces in versamark with the cross hatch background stamp from that kit. After attaching a few of the shapes to different cardstock (including a birch piece from MME) I popped all the pieces up using dimensionals.

Thanks for stopping by! Have a fantastic day.

Valentine Matchbook

This is my creation for the Make it Monday #237 Matchbook Valentines.

This is such an incredibly easy and cute Make it Monday challenge from Papertreyink that I had to try it out for myself.

I started with a piece of light pink cardstock and stamped Love on the front from the PTI Make it Market Mini Garden Gild kit (which I absolutely adore). I attached some bright pink new heart diecuts from Technique Tuesday on the top of the valentine.  I covered the staples on the bottom of the matchbook with a scrap from the PTI Sparkle & Shine patterned cardstock. A little wink of stella and a few hearts at the bottom completed this treat holder.

Have a fantastic day!!
Thanks for stopping by.

Thinking of Spring

We had some beautiful "spring like" weather this weekend so that was the inspiration for this card. I wanted to make a shaker card and after some trial and error got it made. I used Paper smooches Twiggy Florets and stamped, colored and hand cut out some flowers to go in the vase. I added a smaller pink flower and went old school and cut the sentiment out freehand from I Heart Art. I wanted something a little different.

I made this card for Paper Smooches January Challenge 4 Colors.

Thanks for stopping by, I appreciate it so much!

Falling Hearts

This card is for the Simon Says Stamps Wednesday Challenge - Ombre.

I recently got this Simon Says Stamp Solid Falling for you Backgrounds during a great holiday sale. I spied some banner dies on my craft table and decided these backgrounds would make great banners.  After stamping the hearts using Hero Art Ombre ink pads in pink and peach, I die cut 2 of each color and threaded them onto the card and attached with gold brads.

Using one of my favorite scripty sets from Lawn Fawn, I stamped Happy birthday in the red color of the Ombre ink pad. I did add some Wink of Stella to a few hearts!

Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!

Valentine Roses

The card is for Simon Says Stamps Challenge - Stencil It.

I had a little time this week to work with stencils for the challenge. I am still learning how to use all the pastes (matte, gloss, etc) and learn their properties. It has been fun.

I used this Tim Holtz stencil on part of a piece of watercolor paper. After drying, I dabbed Spun Sugar and Abandoned Coral stains on the card. It ended up a very soft color and you can see the roses peeking out. I added a foam die cut from the new Hero Arts release and put gold foil on the top. After tying on a gold ribbon I mounted it to Crisp Cantaloupe from Stampin Up.

You're a peach

This is for SSS Wednesday Challenge Something New.

I saw this challenge was encouraging using Wplus9 stamps and I knew I had a new set from this company. I was born and raised and still live in Georgia, so of course this was the set for me. We are known for our peaches!

I wasn't sure what I wanted to create until I found an old piece of DSP from Stampn' Up. I stamped a bunch of peaches on the white cardstock in a brown ink, then used Crisp Canteloupe and Pear Pizazz from SU to fill in the fruit and added some Wink of Stella glitter clear. I really, really can't stop using it. My marker is almost out! That subtle shimmer is addictive.

I die cut a frame and stamped the greeting in brown and sponged around it a little so it didn't get lost in all the white cardstock. I used some foam tape of pop it up. Pretty easy and came together quickly.

My daughter will be using this card to write a thank you note to her teacher who helped her find her retainer in the lunch trash can today! She sure is a "peach" for helping out!

Have a great day!

Something New

This is my card for the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Something New.

I have really gotten into Tim Holtz over the last year so I wanted to create a card for this challenge with his Globe thinlit. It was die cut with green paper and backed by a circle of homemade paper sprayed with some of his blue distress spray stains to add some depth.

After attaching the globe to the blue I colored the land with Wink of Stella Clear glitter. I cannot get enough of these markers. I just love the subtle glimmer you get. I attached a wide piece of burlap to a a piece of newsprint style paper and popped up the globe with foam tape.

I stamped the sentiment in brown ink and added a little Old Paper Distress ink on top.

Have a great day!

Sending Sunshine

This card is for the AEIHeart challenge blog

We haven't been experiencing much winter in Georgia, mostly rain and super warm temperatures. I wanted to change up my "winter" colors a bit so I pulled some yellows out of my supplies.

I began by embossing snowflakes from the Avery Elle Noel stamp set with Liquid Platinum embossing powder by Ranger. I added a couple of Tim Holtz yellow stains to watercolor paper and sprayed heavily with water and let dry. The oval sentiment was punched from SU Pumpkin Pie cardstock and yellow twine was tied on.

My friends in Colorado would probably appreciate some warmth right about now.
Have a fantastic day and keep on crafting!

Let it snow!

It has finally gotten cooler in Georgia but I always hope for snow! Here is another entry for Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge.

I really wanted to make a shaker card and when I saw this patterned paper it just screamed Shaker! I used the Unity stamp snow globe. After stamping on white cardstock I stamped the same image on back of the patterned paper and cut a little larger so you can see the outline of the snow globe. I stamped the city image with a metallic silver ink and fused a packet closed of sequins and glitter and adhered it all together with foam tape. A banner of Smoky Slate paper stamped with Let it snow was the final step.

Supplies Used:
The Stamp of Life patterned paper
Unity Co. stamps
Lawn Fawn stamps & twine
Smoky Slate SU Paper
We R Memory Keepers Fuse & Square pocket for shaker
Memento Dew Drop ink
Sequins and glitter
Foam tape
