Hi there!

I am really enjoying Christmas break with my family. It was a beautiful, cool day here in GA and I was able to get into my craft room for a bit!

I used this piece of "honeycomb" paper from the Stamps of Life Thank You Paper pad for this card.

I cut a strip of paper 3.5 inches wide and 5.5 high. I randomly stamped the paper using mini hexagon stamps.

I cut a piece of black paper with arrows to go underneath the honeycombs. This was from the Believe paper pad.

I wanted to have a very modern greeting to complement the graphic design so I was happy to come across a great "hello" from Sizzix stamps.

I die cut a tag and stamped using black ink. I added 3 purple flowers.

I assembled the card on bright yellow cardstock.

CASology #229 A Big Milestone

On December 31, 1966,  my sweet parents were married.

They will soon celebrate 50 years of wedded bliss!!!

I am so proud of them and the way they have lived their lives. It is an honor to be one of their children.

I knew I wanted silver and gold embossing.

I used a stitched rectangle die to create the border for the Cheers embossed in silver. I added a few "Sparklers" in gold to set a festive vibe. These stamps came from the December Hero Arts My Monthly Kit.

I mounted the stock on a white card base.

Here is closeup:

Congratulations, Mom and Dad!!

Thanks for stopping by.

Thank You!

Today I created a couple of Thank you cards to send to relatives.
Forgive my photos, it was cloudy most of the day.

I used the Circle Flip-its die from Sizzix/Stephanie Barnard. Stephanie is a designer for Sizzix as well as owner of her own stamp company, The Stamps of Life.

I die cut the main card base from Strawberry cardstock. I used patterned paper from the Stamps of Life Card Kit for the top layer pieces.

The two circles were cut from Sky and Bubblegum CS and a red "thanks" die cut with a white shadow was added on top.

Three silver stars (from a previous card kit) were glued on for a little sparkle.

This card was made using the same Sizzix Flip-its circle set. I changed the colors up a little opting for  light blue, light gray, and dark gray. I normally wouldn't pick gray but it was included in the kit and I wanted to stretch my color choices a bit.

The red heart was an included embellishment. It is so cute, I can't wait to use more of them on another card.

Visit The Stamps of Life website if you would like more details on the kit I mentioned or any of the other products featured.

Thank you so much for stopping by! Have a great day.

Happy Birthday

I just wanted to share a couple more cards using the Stamps of Life December Card Kit.

I used the patterned paper from the kit as well as the Grid 2 die to create this first card. I die cut two pieces of paper (a light blue and a darker blue) to make the dark blue frame and then a contrasting lighter color to fill in the squares. I stamped red hearts and added gold sequins.

This month's kit also included several acrylic embellishments. I added the red heart with glue at the bottom and tied on some twine.

I die cut a scalloped circle out of the center and die cut a cupcake from the triplits die set in pink cardstock. I stamped the sprinkles and the happy birthday in Guava ink. I decided to turn this into a shaker card.

After adhering the cupcake, I glued a few random sequins around and let them dry just so there would something around the cupcake and not all at the bottom of the shaker.

After gluing down the cardstock with foam strips I added some silver flowers from a previous Card kit.

Thanks for stopping by! Have a great day.

Happy Birthday Stamps of Life December Card Kit

Today I have a card using elements from the Stamps of Life Card Club Kit.

I stamped and die cut the candles using light blue, pink and red.

I mounted the candles on a light gray scalloped circle die cut.

The patterned paper was included in the card kit.

To make the "banner," I die cut one more candle and trimmed off the wick.

This will be the birthday card for my daughter who turns 11 tomorrow!

Happy birthday, my dear Sarah bear!!

Thanks for stopping by!

The Stamps of Life December Card Kit

Today I made a few cards from my December Stamps of Life card kit.

Each kit includes a stamp set, die, ribbon/washi tape, embellishments, patterned paper pad, card stock and a plastic storage folder.

Since Christmas is now over, I decided to make some cards for Valentines Day.

The heart embellishments are made of felt on this card. The sentiment came from a previous card kit club stamped onto a piece of patterned paper.

I made a background stamping the hearts in red ink. I cut some scalloped circles in shades of gray and attached it to a piece of patterned paper. I finished it off by stamping a sentiment from the included card kit stamp set.

My final project is a treat bag. Each month there is some little treat bag in our card kit so you can make a quick gift. I die cut the Me & you in darker gray and mounted it on light gray. I put the die cut on a piece of patterned card stock and sealed the bag with some washi tape from a previous kit.

Another great kit from The Stamps of Life. If you would like more information click HERE.

Thank you for stopping by and have a great day!

Papertrey Ink December Blog Hop

Hello! Hope you had a wonderful Christmas!

Today is the PTI December Blog Hop Challenge.

Here is the inspiration picture:

Picture from Oh Happy Day

I love all the color in the photo and there are a lot of elements present. I had to study the picture several times to figure out what I wanted to make.

I decided to use the stars in the picture as my focal point.

I watercolored three sheets of paper using pink, blue and yellow. I die cut a bunch of stars using the Large and small sketched stars dies.

After removing some of the stars I started building some cards. Since dies are all the rage and they leave behind great negative space I have been using that a lot when I make cards. I don't want to waste what is "left behind."

Thanks for hopping by today!

Paper Smooches December Challenge Winter Holidays

I created this card for the Paper Smooches December Challenge Winter Holidays.

This cards feature a winter scene using the Sweet Escape and dies.

I stamped the trees and decided to make the base snowy. I added white liquid appliqué and allowed it to dry overnight. Then I used my heat tool to make it raise and puff up like snow.

I colored the trees with copics and die cut the stamped deer. He is so cute!

For the panel I used watercolor card stock and decided to try out Distress markers. I sometimes forget that the whole distress line reacts with water. I drew some lines of color and spritzed with my distress water bottle. After it dried I went back and added some water droplets and wiped them off, hoping for a little bit of a snowy effect.

Thank you was stamped at the bottom and a blue twine was added.

After adhering the watercolor paper I added the scene.

Thank you for stopping by!

Word Art Wednesday #260-261 Anything Goes

Today I created a card for the Word Art Wednesday Blog Anything Goes #260-261 blog.

They provide us with scripture to create a card and this week's is perfect for Christmas.

As a Christian, this verse reminds me of the precious gift God gave to the world.

I printed and die cut the Scripture and attached it to the back of my cardstock base.

The card I created uses the Holy Night Dies from Concord & 9th. I resisted these dies and stamp set for a while until they have a great Thanksgiving sale so I bought them.

I absolutely LOVE them. I am obsessed with them - they are so cool and make the most beautiful card. Did I mention they are easy to make once you get the hang of them?

You measure cardstock and die cut each piece: the manger, the palm tree and Mary. Then you glue down one side and attach the other side.

You end up with this stunning free-standing  Christmas card.

Thanks for stopping by! Have a wonderful day.

Papertrey Ink Create Along with Us December

Hello! I have been busy getting ready for a Christmas and I finally have a minute to blog.

I created this card for PTI Create Along with Us December.

This floral card designed by Nichole Heady was my inspiration. The clean, simple design with a pop of color caught my eye.

I die cut a frame in white card stock from Fill in the Blank die. I think this Die set is going to be very versatile and I can't wait it use it more.

I stamped the bouquet using the stamp set, Art with Heart, that was a limited edition promotional item earlier this year.

I finished by stamping the sentiment in a gray ink.

This was a fun, easy card but turned out very elegant. I enjoyed just stamping and not doing a technique.

Papertrey Ink Make it Monday #268: Double Layer tags

Just dropping in to share some tags I made for the PTI Make it Monday #268 Double Layer Tags.

I used the Enclosed Wreath Die to die cut several colors of PTI cardstock:
Pure Poppy
New Leaf
Simply Chartreuse
Scarlet Jewel

I die cut using both dies several times and made the following tags.

I used the pieces left behind to create a few more tags. Reminds me of my grandmother who used to say, "Waste not, want not!"

I am also including this post in the WordArt Wednesday Blog # 258-259 Anything Goes and SSS Wednesday Challenge Anything Goes.

Advent Calendar

Hello! Today is the beginning of Advent and I wanted to share my calendar I made for my two daughters.

I used the recent My Monthly Hero set from Hero arts to create these cute boxes to hold a couple of chocolate candies.

The tags were made from the dies that come with the Number It Stamp and Cut set.

I used Designer paper from Stampin' up for the boxes and tags.

After gluing the boxes together and adding some twine I hung them on a frame.

Have a wonderful day!

I am submitting this for the SSS Wednesday Blog Challenge Anything Goes and Word Art Wednesday Blog Challenge Anything Goes #258-259.

These cards were created for the Simon Says Stamp Blog Monday Challenge: Trio-Tastic.

The challenge is to use 3 of something on a card/project.

I pulled out my fall plaid patterned paper from Lawn Fawn and cut 3 Thanks from scripty sayings.

I cut a piece of watercolor paper and painted it a shade of orange.

I adhered the die cuts and tied twine and added a wooden leaf.

But this turned into a 2-for-1 deal!

The paper left from the die cut was so cute I decided to make another card featuring that negative space. I cut and mounted the papers to an orange cardstock. I added 3 sequins, too, to stay with the theme.

Now I have two cards to give to someone. I am so thankful for so much!

Have a wonderful day and thank you for stopping by!

Papertrey Ink November Blog Hop Challenge

Hello! Hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Today is the Papertrey Ink November Blog Hop Challenge.

Here is the inspiration photo for the challenge:

Photo by Lesley at Chaotically Creative

I used a very modern stamp set from Neat and Tangled to create the tree full of bright ornaments.

The base of the tree was inspired by the pink pillow in the picture. I used Nuvo to draw the base and added Clear Rock Candy Glitter while it was wet for some shine.

The Merry Christmas come from the Papertrey Ink December Moments stamp set.

I tied on some gold twine and mounted it on lime green cardstock.

Happy Birthday!

I created today's card using The Stamps of Life November Card Kit.

I also used a die set called Sizzix Drop Ins Lovely.

I cut the card base in blue and added the "happy birthday" drop in. This allows you to cut out the center but it leaves the sentiment in the card base.

I added a piece of patterned paper from the paper pad included in the kit.

The bright pink puffy banner, twine and wood stars are all in the kit so I added those on and finished by stamping stars around the edge.

A very cheerful card!

Thanks for stopping by!
